What is your role at HOPE, in your own words?
I help manage the Tuckahoe Hope Thrift store two days a week. Then several other hours during the week is remote work on schedules, ordering, and volunteer communications.
What’s your favorite verse/passage of scripture and why?
Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
God is with us throughout our lives. There’s no need to be anxious or worry. Instead, we pray about it and allow God‘s peace to fill us up.
What year did you start coming to HOPE? Working at HOPE?
2024.
What’s something that brings you joy?
Being around other people! I like to connect with people and hear their stories.
What’s your go-to comfort food or coffee order?
I love to crunch! I have tried to change my pallet from salty snacks to crunchy veggies instead. If I get a coffee out, my favorite Starbucks is an iced or hot caramel macchiato upside down. Really any latte or iced coffee is awesome! (But only coffee before 1 PM!!)
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
Multiple languages! I have a base in Spanish, but would love to fully understand German, Italian, French, Spanish, Chinese. Any and all!
What’s something people might not know about you?
I was in the marching band in high school and at the University of South Carolina. I also did musical plays and took art classes in high school. I am definitely more of a music and arts person and not sports!
